After spending the first week at Haverstraw Elementary School a significant moment not only provided me with some insight but also changed my perspective with working with ESL students. I learned early on from previous classes the importance of classroom management but in this moment it was time to actually apply what I had learned into real life skills in the classroom. I have to admit the first time I lead the class from one activity directly into another I felt it was somewhat chaotic. Was it me? Was it my instruction? Was I not clear are all things I asked myself. However as time went on and I had more practice in transitioning students from one activity directly into another one I quickly being to see what worked and what didn’t. During my first few attempts I imagine what it could have looked like from another teacher’s perspective. During this summer session of ENGL101A, I have learned multiple ways to express myself through my writing. In fact, before signing up for this class, I did not know the proper way to compose an academic essay for a particular audience, and how to properly cite my sources. Nevertheless, after the short summer session, I am able to define my purpose and audience, analyze critically any piece of information, and write with proper citations and fewer grammatical errors with confidence. Through the short time of 5 weeks, I learned how to focus on my audience as well as how to define the purpose of my papers as academically as possible.…

When I began studying at the University of Montevallo, I had a background of high school creative writing and English classes, and one summer of a college English class. To be honest, I was terrified of jumping into my fall English 102 class. Learning and development We all work with various types of matters and no two matters are identical. Solid EQ skills help us to accurately assess the strengths and limits of ourselves and our lawyers in order to apply that information in ways that are strategic and advantageous to our legal practice. For example, EQ skills could fine-tune our awareness of who deals best with certain clients (including difficult or challenging clients) and who works well as a negotiator.
