The Super Six consists of Adam Cline, Chelsey Grey, Kaylyn Kelly, James Owolawi, Timothy Springer, and Lacy Thomas; our group (pg. 256) was able to work effectively and professionally together throughout the semester. For this class, we chose to analyze Dick’s Last Resort as our focus throughout. As a group, we went to Dick’s Last Resort a total of three times. The first time was strictly to observe the behavior and analyze the entire environment. For the second and third time, we went for the full experience (food, service, atmosphere, etc.). I had only been to this restaurant once in my life and could not recall much about it. This kept me going into the project with a fresh mind and open to a new opportunity (pg. 369). First, the key matter I learned was that to have an excellent dining experience does not mean one must go to the fanciest, more expensive restaurant. Sometimes, the overall experience beats the elegance of the evening. Secondly, I was able to learn more about the characteristics present throughout the organization (pg. 520). I have experience being a waitress, but I was taught to be polite, always professional, and kind to all customers. Through this restaurant, I learned that not all organizations revolve around the same aspects and values (pg. 40). This restaurant in particular focuses on the opposite, being rude and concentrates more on the experience, which is not the norm for most businesses. I felt that my group was a perfect match of people. Each individual brought forth a certain skill that helped create a stronger group. We have managements skills, mathematic and language skills, professionalism, communication skills, and several more all complementing each other to form a well-rounded collection. I learned that everyone had the same vision (pg. 495), which was set on achieving a high grade. Even when a group member was added, social loafing (pg. 271) did not occur proving our dedication. I also learned that working within a group can cause positives to become present. I normally prefer to work on my own, yet with the Super Six, I felt confident in our work and trusted (pg. 279) our group to create a strong
