My Ideas In Literature

How do people learn to read? When dissecting this idea, reading becomes comparable to a flower as it holds beauty, life, and growth, but it also shows when people forget to water. Although the flower will wilt and possibly die from lack of nurturing, there always remains hope of revival because flowers can regrow. Ultimately this reflects my major thoughts about literature, and how my journey consists of fallouts, but like a flower this concept of ‘death’ holds no barriers. The emphasis of starting anew builds upon why reading is important to me as I am rooted in the pages and always trying to expand myself. Seuss. Here I learned not to judge a book by it’s cover, I apply this to my life today. While, this was my first, distinct memory my actual favorite books include, The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket, and The Magic Treehouse by Mary Pope Osborne. These titles have proven themselves as a place for trials, and sporadic behavior, as everything is not promised from the new settings in every novel. My ideas of going on adventures came from the imagination that developed from The Magic Tree House, the siblings always managed to have fun. This notion of never being in the same place appealed to me because nothing ever seemed repetitive. These characteristics even took root in my own personality as of today people would describe me as spontaneous and always up for an adventure. While I am always ready for a new experience, I have balanced my sporadic behavior with motherly characteristics. These characteristics were a result of Violet, who was an influential character, from The Series of Unfortunate Events. She ensured that her younger brother and sister were always taken care of, despite her life as an orphan and constant change of setting. The means of imaging a whole, new world makes me look forward to opening a book, similar to Narnia’s setting of the wardrobe as these books serve as a gateway to a new dimension. In all honesty, this alternative world is a sanctuary for myself and a reason that I read now. Although I typically read for school necessity over pleasure, my spare moments allow me to indulge. These moments either are a result of walking into a library with no direction, or hearing a personal review from a reader. Recently, I walked into a library and found The Zahir by Paulo Coelho, which is based upon the reader’s life, and journey through it, and I was glued. He spoke of this obsession people can gain in life called the Zahir, in his case his wife, until he freed himself. His freedom came from a face-to-face confrontation with his wife and his self-discovery before physically reaching her.
