Sometimes, I debate, if I go full on serious with a piece of poetry then there is a chance to come out as to didactic and pretentious, in the other hand, adding humor to a serious theme can come insensitive. Many perceptions can come out of the poem. This was demonstrated in the Poem “The Story about A Mexican Maid” which to me was masking a serious theme with comedy, in a way it was a satire; however, some of my peers did not received it as well. Although, I appreciate the comedy based poems and even belive that it I should be used; I have strive away from any comical elements in my poems. I am aware of how it hinders my aesthetic and can affect the mood of my poem; however, it is not for me perhaps n the future. My poems that I have presented should be devoid of comedy or comical relief. I have read some articles that have stated that many pretentious writers stay away from comedy in their writings because they take themselves too serious or high in the rank that they see a comedy as a cheap shot; however, that is not the case here, I never liked comedy based entertainment. So no “Potty Jokes” in my poetry this time
