While I was at Smith Middle school, I met exceptional young individuals. As students, many either struggled or excelled in their respective courses. Some students had quiet personas while others were lively and energetic frequently moving around from seat to seat. In my reflections, I would highlight key moments with my students that impacted me. Furthermore, I would quote significant phrases or opinions the students voiced to me. following students during my tenure at Smith Middle School: Kevin, Carrington, Jalil, Anthony, and Maria. Each student had their own learning styles and demeanors. Maria was very quiet and wasn’t always present when I had my field experience. Maria liked to sit by herself and as I talked to her she started to open up some more. Maria had some insecurities over her weight, but was an excellent student. I opened up to Maria about my biggest insecurity when I was her age, my teeth. I was also shocked at how accurate the readings correlated to what happens in real life. The research conducted by these educators gave an insightful, accurate picture of the school system for students. Finally, I am grateful I was able to connect on a personal and academic level with these students as it was an experience I will treasure

I was terrified; I knew no one except two students from my high school, who were rising juniors and to whom I had never spoken before. After that stressful first day, I fell asleep unsure of how I could make it on my own in a place filled with such talented, intelligent, and unfamiliar people. A week later, I knew that Governor’s School would be one of the most treasured experiences of my entire life.…

When the game started we (my team and Fenton’s team) sang the “ Star Spangled Banner” on the 1st and 3rd base line.…

Writing has and continues to be a challenge for me, I have no illusion that I will ever be a “perfect” or even a “good” writer for that matter, but because some of things I learned in how to prepare and to write an essay I feel I’m a much improved writer. Specifically the topics covered from the first module of this course help my development.…
