ESTP: My Personality Analysis

Improved Essays
ESTP My personality is a entrepreneur. I understand this reading because when I do things I like them organized and business like. My first tendency is extraversion, it means that i'm an outgoing person.“I am seen as "outgoing" or as a "people person," says the website Myers & Briggs. When I was younger I was considered the “class clown”. I didn't try to be known as that it just looked that way because I am very social, so I like to talk a lot. The class clown part came because I was always doing funny things to be the center of attention. I never ran out of energy, like this one time in third grade I was being so hyper in class that my teacher literally made me go to the gym and run laps to help me lose some energy. Being extraversion also means “I have a wide range of friends and know lots of …show more content…
Myers briggs defines this as, “Analyzing pros and cons, and then be consistent and logical in deciding.” For example, April 4th was my cousin's tenth birthday party and she rented out this pool. There was a huge slide that went into the pool, and my cousins wanted me to jump off the slide into the pool. I evaluwated the jump and figured out what would happen if I actually jumped. All my family called me scared and saying that I was being a chicken. I didn't let them affect my decision if I was going to jump or not, so I continued to evaluate the situation and decided it was safe, so I eventually jumped. Myers Briggs says people with the thinking tendency, “Look for logical explanations or solutions to most everything.” In sixth grade my friend Devin was over an me and him were playing the game in the living room then out of nowhere the kitchen lights turned off. Devin got super scared and thought it was a ghost. At first I was scared then I thought to myself it was probably not a ghost, so I thought about a reasonable solution and went and checked the breaker. When I went out there I flipped the breaker and all the lights turned

This typology fits me fairly well considering my tendencies that I am aware of. Extraversion is a confusing distinction for me because most people that I meet provide feedback signifying that I express introversion. However, on my typology test I scored 21 in extraversion and 6 in introversion. My best guess is that I prefer extraversion, but habitually exhibit the traits of introversion as an attempt to appear more professional. I also feel in the grey area for sensing and intuition even though I scored 17 in sensing and an 8 in intuition.…

I have always thought that decision making was something I excelled at. In Strengths finder 2.0, Rath describes deliberative as “Life is something of a minefield. Others can run through it recklessly if they so choose, but you take a different approach. You identify dangers, weigh their relative impact, and then place your feet deliberately.” (Rath, 2007, pg.85) I resonated with this example, seeing that I have always been one to take a step back, view the whole picture, and then formulate a decision.…

In order to study personality, psychologists devised a plan to qualitatively measure the traits that differentiate humans from one another. The Big Five Factor Model provides a concise measurement of five basic human qualities that most every person possesses. These qualities fluctuate throughout life and the quiz seeks to measure these changes throughout development. While the conclusions made based off this model are generalizations, it provides a clear view of how certain personality traits are affected by environment, age, gender, race, etc.…

The basis of decision-making can be understood by studying the cognitive heuristics that accompany mental processing, thought, and ability to assess a situation. However, how can we examine the effects of decision-making when we skip the analyzing process – rather, how can we judge the effectiveness of following our gut in quick decisions? “Heuristics is the unconscious, or quick decisions that humans make due to integrated social norms, or mental short-cuts” (Pearl, Judea, 1983, p. 48). The use of heuristics in decision-making is often regarded as the foolish or quick decisions caused by the lack of full analysis before action. While there is an undeniable need for mental processing in any decision, psychologists question the accuracy of our…
