How To Write A Personal Reflection On My Leadership Role

Great Essays
To me, leadership is to guide and influence the team to achieve a goal together. For that, I would give myself a rate of 4 out of 5 for my leadership skill. I will not consider myself a great leader, but I certainly had done a good job leading my team in the past three months. When I started taking the role of event coordinator, I took up greater responsibility than I had ever done before this internship. I am thankful that I was able to successfully organised events. For all these events, I was in charge of recruiting new part-time workers, to train and supervise them as well as to oversee the whole promoting events. In addition to spoken instructions and guidance, I personally sent our notes on what we had discussed and agreed to in order to efficiently guide them on their roles and responsibilities. I also made conscious efforts to give everyone a chance to share their ideas and feedback, especially the quieter more introverted members. I believe …show more content…
However, when comes to daily decisions, I normally adhere to rules and instructions. I would follow the standard procedures to get things done. But for the more complex decision, I seek advice from the more experienced workers or manager as mentioned before. This lead to my score of 3 out of 5 in this part of my self-assessment.

Last but not least, I would put a rank of 4 out of 5 in the area of stress management. My calm personality surely gave a huge advantage when I had to handle high workloads and demands. I always aspire to turn the stress into motivation to drive me closer to the goals. In times of pressure, I always seek positive ways to vent out such as listening to music or chatting with my friends. This allowed me to continue to strive while my internal well-being was not ignored.

In a nutshell, I think I performed an outstanding level. I recognize my strengths and also the areas for improvement which I absolutely looking forward to working on

    1. After reflecting on who or what event provided me with leadership influence I concluded there wasn’t one person or one event that has had the most effect on me to strive to become a better leader or person for that matter. Many of my past supervisors and present alike have been good and bad with more good than bad. I attempt to take pieces from each of their leadership qualities, use things I liked and stayed away from their “bad” leadership qualities I did not believe helped me grow as a leader or produce quality jobs or mission results. All the while, my own personality and beliefs intertwined with their leadership styles to make me who I am today as a leader.…

Strictly speaking, I never really be a leader. I personally didn’t have many opportunities or the desire to be a leader. This is about my personality, but I do want to push myself a little and have some experiences before I start my career. The closest title that I ever had as a leader was the Vice President of service for Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) in my previous college. When I was offered the opportunity, I knew I had to take the responsibility because I thought that could be my first time being a leader.…

I am an RA at Northern Kentucky University. As an RA, I help students transition to college and help them understand how to live on their own away from parents. It is my duty to enforce University Housing policy- to ensure the safety of students plus maintain a positive learning environment. As an RA, I have developed a unique set of skills because I get to work with students to ensure they are receiving a full well rounded college experience while enforcing rules that some tend to break. This can be challenging because I still have to live with them unlike police; for example, they get to go home after they interact with someone so they don’t have to deal with it when their job is over.…

At the beginning of the semester, we were assigned a team project. At first, the assignment sounded difficult to me because it was just at the beginning of the semester and I did not know my classmates or the team members assigned to my group. With the help of the teachers I was able to meet and get to know my team members by their names, we exchanged our phone numbers and email address to ease communication. In our first meeting, we were able to select the team leader, come up with the rules to govern the team and also plan the times we were going to be holding the team meeting every week. In our second session, we were able to come up with the project, discuss the project then divided and allotted tasks to each member.…
