The abilities to expand beyond their boundaries allowed the powerful and aggressive to build empires. Ancient Empires were many but there were those who stood above the rest. One was that of the Egyptian civilization. With their advancements of math and science, astounding architecture of the pyramids, and unified religious practices the Egyptian Empire left its mark upon the universe. Greece was another empire that left its imprint with its philosophical contributions with the production of great teachers as such as Socrates, Aristotle, and Plato who captivated the western ideals and thought of self discovery. The well known poet Homer literal masterpiece served as the building block for the Greek’s pride and religious beliefs. It is with the ancient Greeks that we can accredit the development of democracy and humanism. We can also give the Greeks credit for their artistic and architectural craftiness that demonstrated the Greeks intelligence. This empire greatly influenced the ancient world through conquest and expansion lead by such leaders like Alexander the Great whose military and social genius broke through cultural and geographic boundaries. His legacy way beyond his untimely death was impressive, changing the whole world with the creation on Hellenics societies. Throughout the globe, Greece civilization spread creating a universalism and awareness of Greek culture. Rome, being another major empire, picked up where the Greeks left off arriving from the Republic to a world stage. Roman’s glory and power was held in their laws and government. Great and fearless leaders like Augustus laid the foundation for the empire to flourish and bring forth the Roman peace worldwide. Roman culture, art, architecture, and engineering excelled with the building of the amphitheaters, public baths, roads that started from the Mediterranean, stretched to Europe, and goes as far east as India.
