Personal Reflection On Group Meetings

Overall, I was extremely happy with the effort my group put into this project. In terms of attending the group meetings, everyone was present and participated in the discussion. The first meeting took place on a Sunday afternoon at Baruch and the second meeting took place on a weeknight in the form of a Google Hangout. The times and places of these meetings alone displayed every group members’ commitment to the project, effort to accommodate for scheduling conflicts, and effort to ensure they are contributing their fair share to the group regardless the time or day of the week. At these meetings, we discussed ways to engage the crowd and critiqued each other’s slides and presentations. Personally, I came up with the idea of doing a demonstration …show more content…
Though our actual presentation ran a little too long, the practice presentations were very productive, smooth, and ran for only about 40-50 minutes. In terms of outside research, I was the one who researched, found, and contacted Professor Susan Epstein from Hunter College to speak. This turned into a tedious process that resulted in about 20 emails being sent back and forth between her and I. Despite the difficulties I had in getting definitive answers from her, I was fortunately able to get her to come in to speak. Additionally, I was the one who created the Google Slides document, which the other members and I would populate with our slides. I also organized the Sunday meeting at Baruch and booked our study room in the library. At this meeting, I suggested the idea of doing a Siri demonstration as a crowd engagement tool and also suggested having another meeting via Google Hangout on the Monday before the presentation. I thought it would be a prudent idea to conduct another run-through the day before the presentation. On the day of the presentation, I was the one who printed the slides that would be submitted to you. Additionally, I spent four days rehearsing my performance portion of the presentation and believe I did fairly well. Therefore, in terms of my overall time and contribution to the group, I believe the effort I put into the presentation deserves an
