Having the opportunity to create a “mock” business was a great learning experience. The first speaker, Jason Greene, was a former member of the military and works on the Grand Strand Technology Council. He shared his story with us about his time in the military when he had to make a call of judgment. The lesson that I learned from his talk was sticking to my true moral values and not changing the person I am. He also talked about accepting your failures. This was extremely important to me because at one point in life we all will fail. However, if we learn to accept our failures, we can learn from them and learn what we can do next time to prevent the same thing from happening. The next guest speaker that night was Adam Rice, founder of ISI Elite Training and former Coastal student. His talk was especially memorable due to the fact that he could relate to us since h was so young. He encouraged us to follow our passions and not give up. I stayed after the retreat to network with him and talk with him more about his business.
