The first part of the Bible is called the Old Testament, and it is formed by 39 books that describe creation, prophecy, ancestry and also the time period before the birth of Jesus Christ. After the Old Testament there is the New Testament which has 27 books that tell about the birth of Jesus Christ, his life, crucifixion and resurrection. Also the New Testament goes over the revelation period and what will happen after death. The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years. Even in such a vast time period the Bible flows smoothly and all makes sense as a whole. Also in both sections of the Bible it gives specific guidelines and principles Christians must follow. An example of some of these rules would be the Ten Commandments. These are a set of rules, given by God to Christians, to apply to their lives so that they can become better Christians and closer to God. In the Bible it states “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” Matthew 24:35 (NKJV). In this passage it expresses that God’s word will still stand when the earth comes to its end. It is saying that when Jesus comes to the earth again the Bible will still be relevant and useful, but more importantly that even after the second coming that God’s word will stand throughout eternity. Also in Isaiah 40:8 (NKJV) the Bible says “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” In this verse it communicates how the things of the earth are only temporary. However the word of God will endure forever. That is simply stated in the book of Isaiah in this verse.
