Reflection of Art in My Everyday Life
On a daily basis, I pay close attention to the colors, prints, and photographs of the places I go to, and things I see. I love to organize and decorate things which I learn by observing new things and methods to do so.
Photography is one of the things that I am more interested in. Sometimes I take the time to decor my room since I consider it my safe place. I wish I could do more but I am a very busy student who works 6 days a week. I live away from my family so the main thing on my walls are pictures. Pictures of my homeland, trips, my parents, siblings, grandparents and even pets.
I also have a whiteboard where I write out my work schedule, my classes, and important dates as bills and due dates. I have

There are also some images that I kept from an old calendar all over my room, mostly beach pictures. I absolutely love the beach. I love the sunsets and sunrises, the waves and the birds. I think it is very interesting how angles, symmetry, and lighting can make a huge difference when taking a picture at the beach since the panorama is completely beautiful.
I really would love to own a professional camera so I can take better pictures but for now, I use my iPhone the one has a good camera and in which I can find many apps to make pictures look so much better. There are so many filters and effects but I absolutely prefer to emphasize the natural effects. I like my pictures to give out the feeling of being there, of a simple, but very realistic image so with that being said I eliminate the non-realistic colors. I usually like to take my time when editing a picture, I like to look at the brightness, the contrast, the shadows, the warmth, and the highlight content.
Here are some pictures I took over the

Well, I look everywhere and anywhere for art because it's all around us. I have to emotionally connect — I get lost in the message of a piece — with the artwork because I only share what I love. Sometimes the piece is vibrant, filled with movement and sometimes it's subtle and introspective. I see the love of art as personal revelation and a promise of respite from the everyday grind. When I post, it's more than page gilding, it's me conversing with you.…

Dorothea Lange, a famous documentary photographer and photojournalist, once said that “photography takes a moment out of time, altering life by holding it still”. As a photographer myself, I love this quote because it could never be more true. Photography is a way to capture stories and memories within a powerful image. I’m very passionate about photography because it allows me to be active, tell stories, and my skills will always be improving. Being an active and very hands on person, I love having a hobby that I can do while hiking, going on roadtrips, and having fun photoshoots with friends.…

Constantly evolving, constantly transforming. A place where any outsider has to prove themselves before being welcomed with open arms, where fame or riches is not the predominant factor instead communication is the main concern. So far, my SCE has consisted of organizing and preparing for the start-up of this year’s National Art Honor Society chapter. In addition to inviting members to join and having our first meeting, I have been setting up for the upcoming induction as well as composing our bylaws to the NAHS constitution. As of now, I have not been able to work on my deliverable, as that project will come into play when the activities and events of NAHS begin for the school year. According to the text Living with Art by Mark Getlein, there are six primary roles that artists fulfill in society: artists “create places for some human purpose” (i.e. monolithic art as Stonehenge, Gobeki Tepe, churches, etc..), artist “create extra-ordinary versions of ordinary objects” (for instance the World’s largest ball of yarn, or Tintoretto’s Last Supper), artists have been used to “record and commemorate” historical events (such as a wedding photographer or Pablo Picasso’s Guernica depicting the carnage of the civil war of Spain), artists give “tangible form to the unknown” (for instance the abstract and cubist movements of the 20th century, or the design of man-made objects), artists “give tangible form to feelings and ideas” ( works…

Graffiti was once labeled as street art which was frequently a prominent problem in urban cities; defacing or “tagging” public and private property was against the law. As time as evolved, so has the street art culture. Today, street art is one of most sought after and creative outlets for local artists. The culture around street art can be interesting in the fact that artists build their names and reputation with one piece of work at a time; sometimes when it starts to take over the city it gets the attention it has been wanting. Street art is now very innovative featuring many different art styles and often makes a commentary on a social issue and if it does not, then it was created to help change the city.…

Every person in this world has an individual creativity built within them. My individual creativity personally took me a while to uncover, I only recently unearthed my true creativity during my junior year. I express my creativity through makeup, poetry, painting, drawing and redecorating my surroundings such as my room which I like to think of as my sanctuary because it’s the only place I can disconnect myself from everything, focus on myself and reflect on my days. Makeup is my main outlet of expression since that’s the one that’s in the spotlight and is a quote on quote paraded for the public eye to see when used correctly and minimally to enhance ones beauty it makes a person look more presentable and put together. I was inspired to write…

Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…
