Reflection Of A Spiritua Spiritual Experience In Nursing

This author was very happy taking interview with her neighbor friend. By profession she is also Registered Nurse. She is Nepalese and moved to US eighteen years ago. She has one beautiful eight-year-old daughter and wonderful husband in her family. In general, the interview went really well because of warm welcome of tea and coffee. It was an easy interview because both of us were health care provider and the assessment tool was simple. Daughter is so lovely she showed all her favorite toys in her room. Interviewee and interviewer were both little distracted because of dog presence in the house. Dog didn’t like to be tied so keeps barking, interviewer is fear of dog. For the future plan it would be nice if there were quite room and sufficient time and no interruption. She seems spiritual because she decorate statue of God in separate room. According to her she pray everyday in the morning so that her days goes well. She prays for self, family and others people to protect from uneventful happening. She believes praying and meditation everyday helped her spiritually healthy. …show more content…
It is a part of daily nursing care to meet the patient’s spiritual needs. Many nurses are uncomfortable performing spiritual assessment. But it is important to understand spiritual beliefs to help other. Spiritual assessment tools help to quickly assess and plan spiritual needs of the patient. This tool helps to find out spiritual beliefs, value and meaning of life etc. In the hospital, health care provider can refer to chaplain or other spiritual leader if requested by patient for spiritual care.
