Reflection Of A Painting: A Lake Somewhere In Turkey

Improved Essays
The first thing that I did for this artwork was to look for pictures by him which were difficult because the pictures that he takes all look so beautiful and has such contrast that it was hard just to pick one. My artwork is a lake somewhere in Turkey, the picture that I picked shows the lake looking gloomy while giving a calm sort of vibe. In the drawing there is a lake with some trees it looks like it may be autumn or the end or beginning of winter as the trees have no leaves by the trees there is a boat tied or anchored to one of the trees it looks like someone was over there and at the bottom of the boat is a flowering that is floating in the left of all the trees. The lake itself looks like it's deep enough to reach probably your chest …show more content…
So I started to sketch out the trees and most of the branches that are supposed to be the main thing in the drawing after that I started to put the boat but after that I started to rethink since it didn't know where to put the flower at the ends or the middle I decided to put it in the left end since there barely any light is hitting it since it's supposed to look closer. When I was done sketching I was having trouble how to recreate the water since in some areas the ripples look circular while in other parts it looked like straight lines so I decided to mix it at first I used a blending stump that already had shading to shade it but for some reason it wasn't noticeable so I chose to get a 2B and a 4H pencil to try and some of the parts of the water look foggy while other parts looked a little darker but not dark enough. The drawing is supposed to look gloomy, so I used a paintbrush to make the shading look as gloomy as possible especially on the tree branches because that where it is supposed to look the gloomiest and the sky. The flower at the left end was also shaded with a paintbrush but also with blending stump since it had to look gloomy but also dark at the bottom since it is floating. I feel like the medium did, in fact, work with the subject in some parts

Marc Chagall’s painting of the Prophet Isaiah is very dramatic. In the center, the painting depicts the moment when a seraph purifies Isaiah’s lips with live coal. In the Bible, Isaiah focuses on his “unclean lips” from speaking sins in the past and how those sins would make it impossible to speak the word of Yahweh. To make it so that he could receive the gift of utterance, the seraph purified his lips (Armstrong 42). This gave Isaiah the ability to purely convey the words he will be asked to speak and if it had not happened, it is quite possible that Isaiah would never have been able to spread the word as was necessary for the prophet.…

In this exceedingly powerful painting, “Figures in a Landscape” painted in 1972 by Sidney Goodman, a child, woman, and man are in what looks to be a park because of the sandbox and blue and red swing set. In the background the mountains are bright and happy with houses surrounded by many tall green trees. On the right side of the painting is a huge dark gloomy cloud like when a murder is about to occur in a horror movie. The figures look like something is going on in their mind, maybe they are unhappy with each other or something is really upsetting them. When I see this painting I feel as if the figures are in there own world not aware of their surroundings.…

This differs from Western paintings. I think it is a good depiction of a landscape through mist. The peaks poking through the clouds give a perspective of distance. The painting is of his view of the city from the asylum. When viewing it, you see a tree like figure taking up a majority of the left side, the city in the distance which seems to be dark and cold, and the moon and stars illuminated in yellow and yellowish-white, surrounded by a light and dark blue, swirling night sky. The blue in the painting give me the feeling of coldness and being alone. This is relevant to his life while he was painting this. The emphasis on the moon and stars makes me feel like there was limited “light” in his dark world.…

Most of his artwork that we viewed seemed to have abstract of nature to the photo. While evaluating the photo the symbols of the dark background, gives the artwork a suspicious message. The artist included these dark creepy looking birds in two of his artwork gave the theme of human nature, especially with birds looking like they are flying away from something. In all six artwork it was a repetition of the color schemes of dark colors. Adding the complexity of nature with the fire, air in the photos help me identify the classical elements of the photo.…

When you’re born and raised on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, you don’t get to experience all four seasons like, colorful fall leaves, thick white snow, and blooming flowers. However, on a small island the one advantage you have is being able to watch the sunrise in the east and watch the sunset on the west all in one day. Having the ability to watch the sunrise and sunset as a child all the way up until now I have grown an obsession with nature. I love to watch the sunrise and sunset because every single one has been different from another. The way the colors flow together, they create an almost surreal picture that really pops at your eyes.…
