Important Lessons Learned

Improved Essays
A major lesson that i've learned over time that shaped me as person over time as a person is that whenever you want to get something accomplished in life you will fail whether its one time or one hundred times, all that matters is that the failures you encounter makes you strive harder and you get back up to accomplish whatever you are trying to succeed at. This is a vital tool because it shows that you are strong and determined to get what you want and won't let failure defeat you but strengthen you instead.

The first time that i was faced with this problem was when i was in the ninth grade and wanted a limited pair of shoes that were releasing in january and i didn't have money to buy them ands wasn't old enough to get a job for the shoes.

So i got all of the information and started posting my shoes and the wait began to sell my shoes as soon as possible because the sneaker release was just around the corner and i had a goal to reach. So about two weeks went by and i had no offers on any of the two shoes i had for sale which made me start to get frustrated because i had less than 5 weeks to go and i was desperate to sell these shoes. So since i had no ideas i started to drop the price of each shoe by forty dollars hoping that would get people interested but it didn't work because i went another two weeks with no offers on someone interested in buying my shoes. It came down to the fact that i was willing to just give up and realize that i wasn't thinking realistically and i should just ask my parents to buy the shoes but i slept on the idea and decided that i worked too hard and was too close to give up and i didn't want to be the type of person who gives up when their so close to the finish. So i went and posted up the shoes one more time and this time add better words to describe the shoes and take high quality pictures of them and it worked because within 3 days of posting the AD for the shoes my inbox started pouring with offers of people trying to buy my shoes which is when i knew i had succeeded with one week still to spare.

As a conclusion this made me understand business more

Initial Strategy When BOLD footwear was founded, we pursued an overall low-cost-provider strategy, striving to achieve lower costs than competitors in offering high quality shoes to a broad spectrum of buyers. Focusing on a broad target market, BOLD footwear will avoid losing potential market share in any segment as we watched to see how other companies define themselves. Nevertheless, we were aware that being the lowest cost competitor would eventually hurt the quality of our shoes and so we had to find a solution that would not translate into sacrificing the quality of our shoes and losing market share. Current Strategy Therefore, for the past five years, BOLD footwear has operated through a good quality low-cost provider, yet not the lowest…

Failure is the act or instance of failing or proving unsuccessful. When someone fails at something it often makes them feel discouraged or apprehensive, but I have learned to look at failure differently. Failure to me is an opportunity. I have attended SCPA for nine years now, and before I came to SCPA, I went to Schiel. At Schiel you had the luxury of participating in multiple arts.…

As a teenager I fell in love with Air Jordan’s. I was willing to do just about anything to get the ones I liked because they were limited (stores only got about two in each size) and because they only re-retro periodically so you often wouldn’t see a Jordan be rereleased for an average of five to seven years at a time. I did everything from entering contest to going to stores almost to weeks prior to general releases to snag a ticket to get shoes and even entering lottery’s. As crazy as it may sound all of these things were done just to purchase the shoes, not to get a free pair but to purchase…

    Failure Narrative Essay

    • 5 Pages

Personal Narrative Why is failure the best teacher? I am going to answer this question using personal stories as examples. Failure is the best teacher because no matter what it changes a person, if someone fails and gives up it shows them that they didn’t really want to succeed badly in the first place, if someone fails and uses their failures to then succeed than they learned what it took to make their endeavour go right. We learn from failure by deciding how we are going to react to it and depending on that reaction, it can be a large change, or a small change.…

Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn? Failure is not unusual but having the courage to get back up and fight for what I believe in is indeed unusual. Much earlier in my studies, I have surmounted tremendous hardship which caused me to drop out of college. I have migrated to America in the early 2000s with my family seeking a better life because my country did not have much to offer.…
