Reflective Analysis: Lessons Learned

The artifact I created was a lesson plan that served to meet standard 7 InTasc requirements. The first version of this lesson plan was created on October 18, 2017 and the second, and final, version of the lesson plan was created on October 30, 2017. My peers, my professor, and I were involved in the creation of this artifact. We produced a group lesson plan in class and through discussion with my peers they helped me to understand particular elements and concepts within the lesson plan. Also my professor provided elaborate feedback on our group lesson plan as well as our first version of our individual lesson plans that helped further define the expectations and requirements of the lesson plan.

When I was creating the lesson plan and thinking about the students that would have to perform the task that I was asking them to perform. Specifically, I thought about my instructional strategies as well as the assessments that I was asking the students to perform and wanted to make sure students did not feel too overwhelmed by what I was asking them to do. I had empathy for the students and wanted to make sure students can earn grades from several different forms of assessments not just test because I myself am not a good test taker and I wanted the students to have more than one opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities without the stress of thinking they only have one grade and it is a …show more content…
I believe this artifact is one of the many artifacts that will help me to become a better teacher because it taught me how to create and plan to teach to every student as well as to reflect on what I had created and let me use my own knowledge of the material to teach the students something meaningful that aligns with the state standards. I believe this entire artifact will impact student learning because it is the plan of the lesson that will teach students specific word parts, which is an essential standard they need to learn and master before they move to the next grade

    I am now half way through with Summer Session II and the transition between high school and college has been exciting, but also overwhelming.
