Reflection Of A Journey To A Trip To Germany

Tour Reflection Going into this tour, I’m pretty sure I was one of the few choir members who had actually stepped foot into Germany before, since I had traveled their once before with my mother and grandmother. When I had gone here before (in middle school), I had loved the country, and so even though we were only going to be in Germany for five days, I was most excited for this part of the trip. Since my original trip here was so long ago, I didn’t remember a whole lot of detail about the country. However, I did remember all the colorful buildings, the presence of castles, the fact that much of the younger generation could speak a decent amount of English, the great food, and a few other things. I also had been trying to teach myself a little German, since I’m half German and my Grandma actually grew up over there, so I knew I would at least have some key phrases to get along there. For example, when people couldn’t read the menu, they sometimes just picked a random item off the menu instead of trying to figure it out. This allowed people to experience the food of the country in a way that they might not have if they understood the language. When in knew places, people tend to stick to food they know they like instead of trying to experience knew food, but if you really want to be able to experience a new culture, you can’t be afraid to take chances. There where many other situations like this that happened, and so it seemed language getting in the way sometimes actually helped to enhance our experience in the
