Genesis 9:7, “And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it”(ESV). As humans we are called to continue to fill the earth and form a family. In the establishing of the family, the parents are showing kids that they love them and care for them unconditionally through the covenant that was made with the spouse. “Any conventional relationship is based on an unconditional commitment” (Dr. Grace). There is no basis for a perfect family, as mentioned before. With that in mind, since God is always good, there can be good in the most awful situations. 1 Peter 5:7, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (ESV). During the most difficult times in a person’s life Christ still wants us to call upon him. If you have a child who just won 't obey, and you have tried everything imaginable to discipline, Christ still wants you to call on him. If you have a teenager who is trying things that they should not be trying, and they seem to be mad at everyone around them, Christ still wants you to put your full trust in him. If a spouse is going through a difficult time at work and they are bringing all their problems home, Christ still wants you to pursue them and keep him first in the whole process. The most important thing to remember in tough family situations is that we have a God who loves and cares for us as the heavenly Father. We have Jesus Christ who has saved us and who will pray to God with us, And there is the Holy Spirit who will guide and direct us when there seems to be no way. All we have to do is stay faithful. Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you”
