Reflection Of A Experience At Mccorkle Elementary

Decent Essays
This semester I have felt very blessed and comfortable with my placement with Mrs. Carrillo at McCorkle Elementary. Learning something new every single time I walked in her classroom was definitely the high light of my week. The kids were always so happy to see me and I miss them as the days go by. I have endured many learning moments as well, where I did not plan accordingly, or the lesson did not go as planned. I worked through these times with my teacher and it was so great having her by my side. I learned first hand that the following saying is very true: “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Putting together lesson plans quickly without thinking about the minor details will leave you in a very bad place with young students

When I was in the Jr.High at Jimtown I went through many things that affected my perspective on the world and the people in it. I had just made a new group of friends considering that I was transferring into the Jr.High from the Intermediate school and I was trying to find my place or as said where I belonged in the world ,well at least that was what I was thinking that i was doing. With those friends I had made in the new school, I made many poor decisions, sadly more than the average teenager. I was surrounded by what I thought were good people.…

They cared and worried about me all the time, but yet let me make my own decisions and decide on my own, who I wanted to be.…

Tara Steiner has been a Title I Teacher in Oakes for the past 15 years. She has accommodated, molded, and reinvented a Title I program that truly meets the needs of as many children as possible. Even under the constraints of Target Assistance programming, she was able to reconfigure her schedule and provide interventions for more children than in years past. These interventions were all research-based, incorporated proven and effective instructional practices, and produced data to help us make continuous instructional decisions for programming. Without her involvement, understanding, and leadership it would have been impossible to run a highly effective RtI program.…

In English class, we had read so many different books from all over the world; each style unique to the authors. I feel like when we read books in English, it was the time that I felt most comfortable because of the way I could get so involved in the story. For example in “The Book Thief”, (My favourite book we read in English too!) It was so beautifully told that you can’t help getting so involved in the story, especially emotionally. When a character dies, I feel so dismal because you had grown to love them and feel for them as if it is you who is in the story.…

What do you need to know in order to begin your lesson planning for a class? It starts with the curriculum based on the state learning standards, from these we derive our objectives for each unit, and then finally each unit objective is broken down into individual lesson goals. Planning each lesson requires examining these goals, preparing learning activities around them, and a method of assessing student understanding. Then developing an introduction and flow for the instructional activities, keeping in mind the amount of class time and materials…

There was a time I was making a lesson plan for a class that used a lot of materials and I had forgotten to include a handful of them at first because of how obvious they were. My group members caught me and told me to include them, because I could easily forget something so simple as pencils and mess up my entire lesson plan. There was a list of steps that we would take during class, and plan out what ever you need to say for discussions, introducing the project that the class will be working on, or even how you’re going to answer student’s potential questions. This…

Lesson planning is a highly important part of teaching. Lesson plans are a teacher’s guide in his or her class room. They outline the learning goals and objectives for a particular lesson or chapter; they may also include the activity the teacher has planned and the supplies they will need to help the students complete that assignment. During my field placement I have yet to see my cooperating teacher plan out her lessons for the week, but it is clear she has a lesson plan. She usually has a lecture planned out for each day and she uses the textbook to outline the students learning objectives.…
