In my opinion, this was a perfect lesson. Students knew all the procedures (going to the carpet at the start of the lesson, and quietly going to their seats afterwards). The room looked great and conducive to student learning. I really liked how the teacher used technology to keep the students engaged. When I filled out the observation sheet, I was only focusing on what I saw, and all the areas were rated as High in terms of student engagement. I feel that the amount of time for the video was more than adequate to get a great understanding and observation of the teacher and the students. I really think this was a great classroom. If the teacher asked me for feedback, I would tell her how great the lesson was. I do not have any concerns, and I can tell all the students were engaged and learning. Only thing I can think of suggesting was when asking …show more content…
It looks easier than it is. I had a hard time finding the right feedback or what to look for. Two teachers looked great, and I had a hard time thinking of what kind of feedback to give them. I think out of these videos, I would give more feedback to the middle school teacher. I now know that observations come with experience. It looks like the more you do it, the better one gets at them. I tried to focus on the A-B-Cs of giving feedback. This article sounds great and easy, but it was really hard thinking of feedback to give too these teachers. Overall, this was a great experience. I included the observation sheets that our district uses. Again, for each observation, I focused on only what I saw. I know my vice principal mentioned I could also pick three or four topics to focus on and see if I see those during the lesson. I do like how there are multiple ways one can use the observation
