Team Meeting Reflection

As I reflect on my internship I realize it actually started during the summer, my principal asked that I be involved in the Summer Leadership meetings. The school representatives for these meetings were the principal who is a first-year principal with a high school background, the assistant principal who is a first-year administrator and another assistant principal who has spend most of his time in high school, the multi-tiered system of support coach, who is also new to the school and me. This combination was very interesting because I was the only one who had any experience at the school. This combination of administrators has made my internship a bit difficult, simply because they are learning their own roles and responsibilities, so it makes it difficult for them to assign me any of those roles and responsibilities. I have often felt as they feel I am over- stepping my boundaries. For example, the principal wanted me to work with buses, the first-year assistant principal quickly said no, because she needed to learn and develop a system, therefore I was assigned the special education buses and afterschool buses only. It has its pros and cons, but I must say if I were principal I would have teams in sixth and seventh grade but not eighth grade. Two years ago, I pushed to have a time where teams met to discuss student concerns. There was so much of a push for content PLC meetings that teachers that taught the same students never had time to discuss the student as a whole. There were times that a student was failing three of the core classes, but due to the fact that the teachers didn’t meet as a team no one would realize it until it was too late. Now the MTSS coach, counselor, grade level administrator and I meet with every team twice a month to focus on the students who are failing, having discipline issues or any problem at all. Standard

I was always aware of how court rooms worked and how judges listened to defenders and made decisions shortly after, therefore, I had assumed that a board of supervisors meeting worked the same way. Although, when I attended the Prince Edward County Board of Supervisors, it surprised me how they both were. The meeting started out with a Christian prayer from a reverend and then proceeded with the pledge of allegiance. It shocked me because normally everyone always keeps church separate from the courts and I had considered the board of supervisors a court, so I did not expect something that open. When Chairman Jones started the board meeting by, asking the board members if they had any conflicts of interest, it stuck out the most to show their…

Upon walking into the NA meeting I attended, which was located at Lutheran Memorial Church in their basement on Erial & Blackwood-Clementon Rd, I felt extremely out of place because I am not familiar with this environment making me a “fish out of water”. The meeting was called Miracles on Monday, which is held from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM every Monday, and I would soon find that the name was very fitting for what takes place within those basement walls on a weekly basis. The normal feelings an addict has attending this meeting for the first time of apprehension, curiosity-not knowing what to expect were not apparent for me because my purpose of being there was different. The one feeling I most likely shared with an addict attending the first time…

After the mid-point meeting presentation, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of critics we received from our client during our mid-point meeting presentation. However, my team was positive enough, and each was convinced that having more feedbacks are actually good as we can utilize it to our advantage and strengthen our recommendation further. All feedbacks we received from GrabGreen, both Michael and Patricia, as well as prof. Salas were noted during the “Question and Answer” session and taken into account for in our group meeting that we had conducted on Wednesday (16 November). We reviewed the notes together, and brainstormed to find a solid recommendation that we hope our client would be pleased.…

Teamwork and collaboration, good communication, and confidence are the three strengths I believe I demonstrated during this rotation. My clinical rotation as a student nurse did not only imply observing the providers, but also meant active participation on my part. Being engaged, enabled me to put into practice what I have learned in theory. The first day of my rotation, the nurse permitted me to augment the Pitocin dose by two units after 20 minutes. I thought that was exciting because I learned about the medication in the class and participated in administering it.…

I would like to reflect on this, since my opinion about it has changed, as we progressed through the course. There were various conflicts that occurred during the project, but only one in particular was significant to change my opinion about team conflicts, it was towards the end of the project. When the team was discussing solutions to the complex problem, there was disagreement with the team on what the solution should look like. As, different team members had different opinions and expectations from the project, which led to the conflict within the team.…

The short answer is I don’t know. If there where I think they would have found my childhood quite boring as I did, I think they would have found my life during the navy far more interesting. Not just because of the places I went or things I did, which though interesting, where in a large part just a catalyst to how I changed as a person.…
