Reflection For Senior Project

Decent Essays
What I did during my senior project I researched famous figures, events and organizations such as Mary Mahoney, she was the first African American female to become a registered Nurse. The Scared Twenty a group of nurses who were the first on the battle field during WWI. I also volunteered at children's hospital in downtown St Paul, my duties included taking patients and guests to and from their destinations, appoinments and I would also provided relief for parents to take a break or run erranes, I also distracted kids from the fact that they’re in a hospital.

I would say a weaknesses of my project is that I didn’t go more depth about the different types of nursing and their rate of pay. The strengths of my project are the very hands on expeirence, the reseach into the stas and famous African American nurses. Another strength is my passion for the project when I was on stage presenting I wanted the audiance to feel how much I wanted and loved being a nurse.

My experience as a writer or communicator would have been considered well below average if I was asked just a few years ago, however, I feel that during my time at Robert Morris this has improved. From this class specifically, I wish to gain an understanding of communication outside of college academics. In my Capstone course, the teacher did not want anything aside from the citations written in APA or MLA. He felt that if this was not known by now it would not be learned and furthermore, he felt it had no standing outside of academics. I have spent the past fifteen years in the military and communication in the military is vastly different than that of the civilian world.…

Senior Workshop (Meghan Evans) Period 1: Monday Wednesday I feel senior workshop was one of my best workshop classes I’ve ever had. I liked how student driven this class was yet there was barely any days where we didn’t have anything to workshop. I find student driven classes have the ability to fail if not everyone is willing to participate, yet I didn’t see that in this class. Being in a class where so many people were bringing in pieces and and participating made me more motivated to bring in my own pieces and contribute. I feel like the comments I got for my Sylvia Plath inspired piece “Intoxication” were vital and the piece stands out to me as having the most relevant comments.…

Throughout this unit my identity as a writer and my confidence in my writing has continued to develop and improve. From the nerves I felt in regards to writing my first journal entry on the Loan and Muir quote about being a practicing writer, to the latest entry on a current news story I feel as though my writing has vastly improved, not only in its context, but also in my approach. One of the most influential pieces I read on writing came from the communications toolkit. Grellier and Goerke (2014), explained that writing was like a physical activity and in order to perfect your skills you need to do hours of work, as if you were trying to master kicking a football. She also explained that it’s okay to develop your work throughout an essay,…

My Personal Reflections I didn 't come to understand values and what treasure to hold on as a person until I become a Christian twenty years ago. My faith in God developed as I involved in the church and that most of my activities then revolved around the church and the church community. I came to understand what love is, and having God who loved me the most more than anybody else has become a motivation for me to show and share the same love I received to people around me, the families I had worked with since I became a nanny, and the elderly people I looked after as a home support worker.…
