Reflection: Field Placement Mission And Values

Decent Essays
So overall this week was good. I feel like I accomplished a lot with the students. I spent an entire resource period helping a student get caught back up on her math home work because she was missing the week before. During a lunch period we had a student on ISS or In School Suspension and I helped the student do assignments that they were working on. Durring that lunch period I also went through the learning contract again and check off things that Ive done through out the entire ten weeks I have been there that I may have missed while doing placement journals. So far ive become familiar with the field placement mission and values … Ect. I have read the staff manual at the beginning of the semester. Also by attending meetings with my superviors ive seen how not only the school works but the different areas work espically the special needs …show more content…
This week I was able to identify an a smaller but yet important ethical dilemma. One student who has been having poor attendance since the beginning of the semester has recently come down with a case of head lice. The said student like I have said has missed quite a few classes already and really can not afford to keep missing them. Now with this case of head lice the proper procedure is to keep the student at home until the head lice has cleared up. We could send home assignment for the student to do while at home but the thing is she really wont understand how to do them and in all certainity they wont get done. The student is in the resource class for a reason to get extra help. By keeping her at home we risk her falling even farther behind in classes and becoming at risk for not obtaining a credit. Or we keep her in the school and run the risk of having a head lice outbreak. Also with the case of head lice I really say how personal experiences affect work with

Hello, This week has sucked. I broke down crying at work last night because I can not keep taking time off or else they will fire me. I continuously take Saturday nights off because my boyfriend lives three hours away and I want to visit him and he does not want to sit in my dorm room for 8 hours while I work. Finally I called him and told him he was just going to have to deal with it or meet up with some friends that he has in Queens. That was clearly the hardest part of my week.…

Ethical Dilemmas Essay I have chosen to analyze case two and this paper will outline my understanding, exploration, and final decision-making process as it applies to the ethical dilemmas presented. Understanding the Dilemmas This case has a variety of ethical dilemmas occurring across several contexts (personal, societal, and organizational). Reflecting on the theories and conceptual models presented in this course, I found the Five Faces of Oppression (Young, 2014) and the Ecological Systems Theory (Bronfenbrenner, 1979) helpful in conceptualizing these various circumstances and contexts.…

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…

This week in field was not too busy, but was busy enough to allow me to experience and complete new tasks. Although the tasks completed this week were not very challenging, they allowed me to come in contact with some of the competency skills. Competency skill 9 was re-introduced from last week. I was to report to the Arthurtown site and intern under the supervision of Ms. Julia. Ms. Julia had me continue to sort through employee files; looking for forms any of the teachers may have been missing or needed to update.…

This was an excellent week. I learned how to do assessments based on the cardiac and respiratory systems. I was able to serve food, help assist with feeding, and observe the residents chart. In addition, I worked more independently with the residents at the nursing home. I was able to engage in conversation, assist with toileting, and attend a social activity with the residents.…

Today, June 18th, 2017, marks the last day of my first week of college at Paul Quinn College and I am proud to say, “I survived”. Committing to Paul Quinn was a really big decision for me because this school is a 17 hour drive away from my home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. I was afraid that I might get homesick or that I would not have the support of my family because I would be so far away from home. Soon, after visiting the Dallas campus, I realized that Paul Quinn was the school for me. This is the school where I will grow as an individual and I have come to that realization in my first week of college through the many conversations with upperclassmen, faculty, alumni and summer bridge students.…

This week my push category goal was to meet new people and to explore the Full sail campus. I would say that meeting my goal of meeting new people has been gone really well, the people are really nice and are open to meeting new people it is great. And exploring the campus has been fun weather it is just walking around with friends or on a tour. The biggest challenge this week would have to be trying to find time for this online work and orientation at the same time. But the reason I that I think it was so hard was because I didn’t have the wifi for the campus for like 3 days of this week…

Unfortunately, we did not get through all of the sections because there was more examples problems than necessary. Another thing I would like to add is that I felt that when I taught, Katie was trying to hold a conversation with the class. Lisa and I felt that Katie was trying to present all of her topics with no consider of time and allow time for us to teach our topics. I would rate Katie a seven out of ten. As for Lisa, I feel she did the best…

Briefly describe your final feelings on the weekend’s work now that it is over: I feel that this was a good class weekend. I thought I learned valuable information from my group, from my other classmates, and from my professor. I thought meeting with our group for the first night and figure out our roles was a great way to start the night. I felt playing Cards against Humanity was a good way to do group bonding. I felt the group discussion over patron-driven collection development was good to understand where we each stood on our ideas or our systems ideas of collection development and policy.…

Many, like Aunt Sandy, have told me that 's what I was born to do!…

Introduction “The concepts of ethics, character, right and wrong, and good and evil have captivated humankind ever since we began to live in groups, communicate, and pass judgment on each others ' actions based on motivation, group rules and norms, and intermediate and end results.” After reading that in the syllabus, I became incredibly intrigued as to what was to come in this class. Ethics not only effects information technology but the whole world and throughout the course we have been able to link ethical considerations to all aspects, with focus on information technology. For the first time I was able to put everything I had learned into practice. My practicum was one of the best learning experiences I have experienced as a student. This semester has been a very difficult, stressful, and challenging for me . High School can not compare the amount of stress I had to face in this fall semester at Hostos Community College. However, it is like that with many other students because making a transition is frightening and many of us find a way to run away from it. Everything in life is a challenge and it is scary as well, but for those who want to study it all starts of with college. It took me more than words to actually realize the reality that I am actually living right at this very moment because, I was not expecting so many things to fall apart, but somehow becoming whole again.…
