This week I was able to identify an a smaller but yet important ethical dilemma. One student who has been having poor attendance since the beginning of the semester has recently come down with a case of head lice. The said student like I have said has missed quite a few classes already and really can not afford to keep missing them. Now with this case of head lice the proper procedure is to keep the student at home until the head lice has cleared up. We could send home assignment for the student to do while at home but the thing is she really wont understand how to do them and in all certainity they wont get done. The student is in the resource class for a reason to get extra help. By keeping her at home we risk her falling even farther behind in classes and becoming at risk for not obtaining a credit. Or we keep her in the school and run the risk of having a head lice outbreak. Also with the case of head lice I really say how personal experiences affect work with
