As I continue my fitness journey in Zumba toning, there are areas of progression as well as areas for improvement. Currently, we are in the eighth week of the semester, but I have been enrolled in Zumba toning for only five weeks. Also, I was absent for two sessions and one session was cancelled. Unfortunately, it is difficult for me to measure my progress in some areas due to these circumstances. My three goals that I set for myself this semester was to maintain a balanced, nutritious diet, to increase my energy levels and to tone specifically my legs and arms. Although I have faced many obstacles this semester academically and physically, I am able to reflect on my behaviors in order to reach all of my set goals. My ultimate goal in life to maintain a healthy, physical lifestyle. Therefore, I intend to take my learn from my experiences in my Zumba toning class and use them to my advantage in the future. Maintaining a nutritious diet is not as easy as I thought it would be. Due to the fact that I am a full time worker and student, I find myself short of time to meal prep and cook my own food. Lately, I have been spending an immense amount of money on take-out food, in which is known to be very high in sodium. Even though I eat a lot of takeout, I have been very conscious about the types of food I choose to eat. For example, instead of ordering a sausage mcmuffin from McDonalds for breakfast, I would typically go to Qdoba and order a breakfast burrito because of the

During this summer session of ENGL101A, I have learned multiple ways to express myself through my writing. In fact, before signing up for this class, I did not know the proper way to compose an academic essay for a particular audience, and how to properly cite my sources. Nevertheless, after the short summer session, I am able to define my purpose and audience, analyze critically any piece of information, and write with proper citations and fewer grammatical errors with confidence. Through the short time of 5 weeks, I learned how to focus on my audience as well as how to define the purpose of my papers as academically as possible.…

My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

Like most people, the third grade was a highly intense time. This was the period in which you had to decipher between wanting to learn how to multiply or learn how to divide first. Or for me the most difficult decision may have been choosing between kickball and tetherball during recess. But I had an issue of seeing adults doing things and if it was simple I would do them too. For me as a child I had what many considered an old sold.…

“I have to go here, dad. I just have to,” I told my father during our first tour of Colorado Mesa University’s campus. “I already feel like a Maverick,” I admitted as I straightened out my new CMU ball cap from the campus bookstore. It was a strange feeling knowing that I would no longer be Lakeland High School’s most spirited student, but there was excitement in knowing that I would soon show my pride for Colorado Mesa. Images of my blue and white spirit wear quickly changed to be maroon and gold.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…

However, as I walk away from my English 102 class I carry the understanding of writing a college level essay, undertaking research and completing a research and argument paper properly, and knowledge to prepare me for my other classes and profession.…
