Living Alone Analysis

I already feel like I majorly don’t have my life together, even though I have immediate guidance from my parents available to me. This fact scares me and makes me feel uncertain as to how I’ll ever improve my life alone. Sometimes, I imagine all the possibilities that come with college and excitedly anticipate them, but then I realize how sheltered and attached to my parents I really am and can’t imagine how I’ll function without them near me. However, I want to become a successful adult and show them that all their time and care nurtured and empowered an independent and productive individual. To do so, I’ll have to discipline myself to handle the responsibilities of new freedoms like health, schedule and money.

Right now, I’m at a point in my life where I’m not satisfied with the way I look and my parents try to encourage me to lose weight and eat healthy, but sometimes I take their criticisms too personally. As a result, I struggle to find the drive to acquire healthy habits. I always make up excuses that I have too much homework and not enough time to fit in some exercise or healthy meals. However, in college, I don’t want to retain my lazy teenage habits. Of course, I’ll be super busy, but so is everyone else in the world and some of them can still find time to succeed, work towards their dreams and stay healthy. To accomplish this, I’ll fit in an hour of exercise into my schedule. The colleges I’m looking into have free access to their gyms for all students, so I’ll use that to my advantage. Earlier this year, I was determined to exercise for about 20 minutes on the treadmill everyday and rejoiced when my parents and I started noticing the successful results. I imagine if I walk or run on the treadmill for at least an hour everyday once I’m in college, I’ll notice even more grand results. Eating healthy will be another tricky task to tackle. I plan to purchase a meal plan

Senior Brag Sheet Career Choice: I plan to double major in mechanical engineering and finance, but still face some uncertainty in this plan. My interests developed mainly from the push of my parents. Ever since I was a child, the overarching career I was pushed towards was engineer or doctor, so I pushed myself to learn topics that would better support these ideas. Classes such as Scitech gave me an understanding of what engineers do which provided me with a great deal of interest. Other clubs such as Science Olympiad and TEAMS have also given me experiences that have fostered this interest in engineering with competitions and processes of creating something.…

Life with Education As I sit and reflect on “First Job” by Iliana Roman and how her life could possibly compare to mine, the term “apples and oranges” come to mind. Even while I admire Iliana Roman’s “never give up” attitude and the fact she proved that a woman does not need a man to be successful in life, I don’t believe I’m going to find a multitude of points to hit upon. While the author’s first job of many lasted a period of years, my one and only job lasted a little over a year. It started at the beginning of my senior year and lasted through graduation.…

Life's a journey worth taking the unbeaten path. That is why, despite looking up to my loving parents and having the utmost respect for them, I have taken a different road than they did. However, undergoing any challenge without their guiding experience can certainly prove to be an undertaking. I, a first generation college student, am the pioneer of higher education for my family. Though I join many others in lunging out into the world for the first time, I am doing so without having a father or mother to tell me how to tackle the college experience.…

The piece of writing “On Vacation, All by Myself” by Pete Jordan is an example of a well-written and interesting narrative story. With one of the episodes from the life of the teenager, Jordan appeals to the feeling of seeking for freedom as a young person, and this makes the story engaging. To better explain what the character feels and to make the readers stick to the story, the author uses the natural language and exciting beginning. For this story, the author uses simple language that is easy to understand.…

We live in a world where people are constantly facingInto the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine is not just a light-hearted entertaining musical, but also a work of literature with a deeper understanding in both the story and characters. One of my favorite songs from the musical is “No One is Alone,” which is sung by Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, the Baker, and Jack during a difficult time. Everyone has had an instance in their life where they feel alone and as if they are having to battle it by themselves. Overall, the song’s purpose is to comfort Little Red Riding Hood and Jack because they just lost their moms and now feel alone because they were all they had. However, Cinderella and the Baker are there to tell them that…

While it is not bad to have a dessert at the end of the day, we must be more aware of what we are eating, how much, where it came from, and regulate a fitness program along with watching our diet to create a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I have been aware of great changes in my food choices over the course of a year and a half. It began by developing an addiction to soda, mainly Dr. Pepper.
