She grew up in a very ritual area which work in the farm was seen more important than education itself because of the survival dependency put onto it. It was decided for her to stop going to school because the need for more helping hands in the farm stopped her from going to school in the equivalence to what we know to be the third grade level. She does not let her educational background define her, she assets how everyone has their life’s journey (good or bad) it is up to the individual to make the best out of any situation regardless. As far as I can remember, she always asserted the importance of education and it being described as a key awaiting the individual for success and endless opportunity. Leaving education for her was not a choice of her own it was placed upon her to leave school and start working. As she grew older and her consideration for starting a family grew within her too, she promised to herself to allow her children have what she couldn’t have as a child. Never victimizing herself and her upbringing my mother always used herself as an example towards our achievements in school, always asserting the use of her struggle as our own to preserver even the impossible in the land of the free and
