When I got my first feedback from Mrs. Menetre, my paper was covered in yellow boxes with many critiques I have never even heard of before. The comments were about topics ranging from commas to passive tense. In the past, I never had a teacher who would give back our rough drafts with notes. When we wrote our rough draft, we would get them back and have to “revise” them. The only problem was that I did not know how to revise a paper so I would just turn in my rough draft again and make the same grade. On my rough draft, I had so many comments on commas, explanations, informal words, passive voice, and much more (“Voyage of Variety” 3). When I started to revise, I only fixed what Mrs. Menetre said. When I read over my rough draft to submit, I was able to fix what I saw. I got little feedback for my rough draft and after the feedback I worked hard on trying to achieve an almost flawless paper. I went through the checklist and made sure to fix anything that did not meet the requirements. When I got results from my final draft, I was excited to see I got a ninety-eight and only a few comments. This class has helped me form a new skill that I can use in future classes like composition II, which I will be taking next
