Reflections on going back to college. First, going back to college was my third option. I just retired from the Army, with 21 years of military service. I was a Military Police officer all that time. I refuse to have anything to do with law enforcement, now that I’m out of the Army. I went to class for Veteran Services Representative for the Regional Office in Denver. I was a no hire for them. Second choice for this job was the Houston, TX., Regional Office. Apparently VA has a hiring cap going on right now. So again, I was a no hire. So right now, I am unemployed and on the job market. Hence, back in college to receive my Post 911, from my Army service. Right now, I am depressed, stressed out and need something to take my mind off of my situation. The four walls are closing in on me. I have to get out of the house. The Army paycheck was my security blanket. You never failed to get paid, whether you’re there at O dark thirty or not. I always had something to do. Now that I am retired. I find myself twirling my thumbs. Like, hummm! What to do next. And the question is unanswerable for me. I have no ideas of what I like to do. What hobbies satisfy me? What will motivate me? What job can I get that will be fun for me to go too? …show more content…
I did not complete my degree with Ashford University. It was an online degree plan. I failed my pre-algebra. I suck at math, if you did not already know. I can always learn more about the Bible. I did not expect the scripture and prayer before class, but it was great. This brought me back to elementary school, when we use to do this. Now we a so far gone, that the world is even trying to get “In God We trust,” off the

Going to school has been and continues to be a rewarding part of my life as I’ve been able to study and learn in different settings, take part in extracurricular activities and discover what my likes and dislikes are pertaining to school. To this day, I’ve taken two different approaches to obtaining my High School Diploma. Most of my school has been completed in a classroom where there was a teacher teaching as well as students attending at the same time and place. With E-learning, there is a teacher, but all of the material is online where I can learn in the comfort of my home. In a classroom setting, there are set schedules and strict deadlines, alternately with online learning, I’ve been able to learn and complete tasks at my pace.…
