How Films Potray Life

Throughout this unit it has shown that films do indeed reflect our lives, from the past and present. The texts in this unit are just one out of the many reasons that shows and proves that movies do not shape our lives but in fact reflect our lives. But throughout the chapter in “the Interface textbook edited by Joan Green” it shows that the texts that have been read have many supporting quotes and examples that prove films potray life. These quotes and evidence give the reasoning to prove this point. There are also many other films that have been released throughout the years that also prove this point. This is true, due to the evidence that shows how long ago to now some people's actions and thoughts have not changed. For example there is a quote which states “ we had to stay hidden in the hotel all day, because any western face raised suspicion and would bring the police around to question you.”( Morrow,112) This quote is significant to the proof of the point because it reflects on how in Japan and all over the world there are so many animals that are being killed illegally and in secret. Also it is being reflected on how our generation treats these animals, especially how hidden they all make it. Another reason this evidence shows that movies reflect our lives is that in this quote it states “water in the cove turns red from the blood of the dolphins killed by fishers.” ( Morrow, 112) This quote is very significant to the text because it reflects and shows how these people have been doing these things for years now. These films have been based off of historical figures and events, actions and mindsets of the past socities and finally the way of life in the past. All of this evidence including the quotes and examples help prove the point of films being based and reflected. For example all of these films such as The cove, Avatar, Titanic, Pearl harbour, all non fiction and enviormental films show examples of films reflecting our past events, our actions and facts. Overall throughout the years movies have been released that don’t show shaping of lives but they have shown Reflection of human life.
