Reflection: Clinical Observation At Mclean Hospital

I had the opportunity to have a clinical rotation at McLean hospital on the adolescent unit on March 20, 2017. I had direct patient contact with a few different adolescents on the unit. I spent the day going to different activities with the patients.They ranged in ages from as young as thirteen and as old as nineteen. The activities included CBT and DBT therapies.The students were able to express their feelings through talking with therapists or through art. I met a patient with OCD and she had many of the characteristics of OCD such as engaging in rituals and an obsession with perfection. She was very soft spoken but was able to talk about her past and also about how became a resident on the adolescent unit.
