Reflection Between Observation And Post-Activity Rating

Decent Essays
Related to the rating before, I think my overall pre-activity rating and post-activity rating mostly are accurate. The rating that I made is mostly based on how others think about, this included professionals, colleagues, employers, unit score rate, friends, and family. I might have rate myself a lower rate at pre-activity due to I expected to make an improvement during the activity. No matter what, my overall rating is accurate.

The unrest in Ferguson, MO is over the decision of whether or not to indict Darren Wilson, the white police officer involved in the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old named Michael Brown. This decision by a grand jury has sparked riots, protests, and general anger across the nation. Those people who agree with the rioters and/or protestors say things, such as, “Racism is still here and if you don’t think that’s true, open your eyes!” Others are quick to point out, “THE LOOTERS AND THE PROTESTORS ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE! STOP SPREADING LIES,” (sic).…

Routine Activity: Theft at the Supermarket Anyone is capable of committing a crime because as long as there is a temptation, there is a potential for crime. According to the Routine Activity Theory, three elements are needed in order for a crime to take place: a target, a potential offender and the absence of guardians. Apart from that, this theory proposes that by changing the environment, crime can be reduced. Five techniques available to prevent crime are increasing the effort, increasing the risks, reducing the rewards, reducing provocation, and removing excuses. The target is the at the supermarket where I work at.…

    Routine Activity Theory

Another way of understanding and explain marijuana use within skateboarding culture, would be through the routine activity theory that Johns used in her dissertation. Despite her not finding a higher amount of substance use among skateboarders than other subcultures, she did find an increased amount of substance use among the older informants in the 12th grade. As mentioned in earlier, this would match the findings of Demant & Järvinen, and the routine activity theory may therefore be able to find an explanation of why older adolescents are likely to engage in substance use more generally. This may be because older adolescents are more likely to be without parental supervision, or spend more of their time in an unstructured manner since they…

Introduction Definitions of intelligence vary among scholars, theorists, and laypersons, due to its multidimensionality. However, intelligence typically involves an individual’s ability to learn from experience and adapt to the environment in which they live. I believe that the construct of intelligence should encompass an individual’s ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form, to think logically, and to express creativity. Two intelligence tests in which I recently had the opportunity to take and score included the Shipley Institute of Living Scale-2 and the Wonderlic Personnel Test.…

This is a reflective discussion of the Psychology study as part of the Research in Psychology module whilst studying for a B.Sc. Psychology. I intend to use the Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle Model of reflection as it has six clear parts, starting with a portrayal of the event, understanding of what was learned through to conclusions and thought for future research. I believe using a proven model of reflection will enable me to analyse the different stages of the research process completely so that I learn from this experience and better myself in future studies. Initially, we read earlier literature in the seminar and went on to independently find research on physical activity in adolescents.…

Our work could have been more productive and we should have had used our time wisely and then we could have gotten a better peer review. Also we could have thought our ideas on a piece of paper and maybe we could have done better and improve on the structure because the building looked nothing like the real willis tower and more details could improved our grade .My perspective also changed because looking at our paper where we wrote down our scale and original measurements me and my partner should have chosen somewhere we could have focused more in an more better area . In addition me an my partner could have double checked the math and not have forgotten to put the unit so it could be more clear and the people who look at it and can understand…

    Peer Response Reflection

My previous experiences with peer response have not been as beneficial to me as teachers and myself would hope. In my English 111 class, my professor required the class to do peer responses in class where we had to read your partners paper aloud to him or her and then discuss what you liked/did not like about their paper. This made me very uncomfortable and gave me very little time to give a justified response to someone else's paper, so most of the time I just told my partner that their paper was well written. For the peer responses we did last week in class I found them to be much more beneficial in the sense that we were able to read another students draft "alone" and actually form an opinion and then fill out the peer response form alone.…

NOVEMBER, 2016 Fitness testing is something that you either dread or are excited for. I don’t like fitness testing to be honest. And scores are a big part of it. I usually get threes and some fours, but I find the system unfair. If you are putting your effort into the tasks, I think that deserves a four.…

Introduction The objective of this paper is for me to demonstrate an understanding of my past life experiences through the information that I have learned in this course. I have chosen to focus on multiple meaningful experiences in my life. Some experiences from my past may not appear to be bright and sunny; however my ophthalmologist assured me that all of my rods and cones were in good working order. “Ha-ha” Everything that I have gone through has made me the consciously aware woman that I am today. I’m still a work in progress.…

The evidence I have for the collegiate/peer feedback is the comment I received from the mentor teacher on my self-evaluation form, the self-evaluation form for the self-assessment/reflection, and 3 students surveys from each of the three classes that I taught for the student feedback (see Appendix 1). Area of strength An area of strength for my teaching practice would be the different teaching methods and multiple forms of literacy that I’ve included in the lessons, as I have been trying to do a different activity for each lessons, or includes visual, music, and videos in the lessons to give students different approaches to the contents. My mentor teacher commented the different tasks as “interesting and useful” for the students. The students…

Throughout this semester in Intro to Psychology, I have gained a deeper understanding of the entire field of psychology. This has allowed me to better understand how and why people act in certain ways. I have learned about human tendencies, different health or psychological disorders, and a variety of other human characteristics. Through this knowledge base that I have gained during my time in this course, I have learned more about myself and what influences how I experience and view the world. A few concepts that I have applied to my own life and influence me, deal with the ideas of mindset, motivation style, and my developing understanding of social situations.…

Individual Reflection Paper As humans, it is within our inborn nature to interact and cooperate with others. This is due to the fact that no one individual is perfect and capable in all ways. We are able to complement each other’s inadequacy through working as a group, hence this is why collective efforts often made things easier as compared to individual effort. While working in groups, we will experience changes in group dynamics and processes.…
