As a student of Napavine High School I will make sure I get good grades by paying attention in class and to do homework and to studying. I shall be on time to every class with all my materials and ready to go. As for my sport, fastpitch, I shall work hard to support the team and to be in good spirits. I will do whatever I can do to help me team or my school or even a friend. As for band I will try to show up for every game football and basketball, and to make sure that I try to practice most days. I will show up to all the concerts in proper uniform.

Napavine Jr. Sr. High School, just like every other educational institution, has multiple stakeholders with whom we must deal. The challenges we face are the close proximity of our small school to the majority of community members and parents, and the intimacy and long-term shared experiences between staff, parents and students. At Napavine, we have teachers, parents, community members and students who have been in the community for all of their lives; and, we have those same stakeholders who have not. Division between stakeholder…

While completing this activity, I learned about how a board member feels about if standardized testing improves motivation, if the media portrays test data accurately and thoroughly, how results from standardized testing are used to improve instruction and curriculum, and if she thought standardized testing would increase or decrease over the next decade. More importantly, I learned that the Smithville Board of Education is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, with vast knowledge, and who truly can about teachers, students, and administrators in the district. The person I interviewed is not only a school board member, but she is also a retired teacher from a neighboring school district. She continues to work for that district as a long term substitute. She hold a life-time certification in K-8 Elementary education,…

As I came to college, my family and I anticipated I would be following a simple mold of a conscientious student. One that is highly focused in some limited number of long term goals. Don 't get me wrong, this only meant that I had high expectations out of my college education. For some people, this path leads them to great success. But, I slowly realized my vision of success needed to have stories from different roads and bridges, than just one simple path.…

As our course went on and I started to understand business some more I then realized why there were certain things that were shaping my views about my jobs. No matter where you go or went to school, you always have some type of English class that forces you to write papers. These papers usually has to be a certain way or over a certain topic. To me that was a pretty big problem for me because I could do free writing easy, but when you tell me to write about something that I don 't have any interest in and I have to follow your “rules”, then I will just try to blow it off. I have always hated the way Professors and the world had this “image” of their version of a “perfect” essay. I always messed up on the rules like where to put my commas or semicolons, that to me is the hardest part to not have a run- on sentence.…

Reflection on Book Title “The Leader, The Teacher & You” I share the same sentiment with the author that “Walk the ground!” is essential for a leader to earn respect from the ground. Walking the ground also requires social competency skills such as being able to “communicate to influence” and having “interpersonal effectiveness”. In future, I will apply this principle of “Walk the ground!” by constantly engaging my superiors, peers and subordinates for their guidance and opinions through cohesion and feedback sessions on how various tasks can be done more effectively and efficiently. Through these sessions, I will seek to understand their concerns and challenges in their area of work.…
