I have always believed that wisdom is gained by growing up and learning from our elders. I never had realized how wisdom is portrayed in the bible. In the beginning of the bible, wisdom is portrayed as being there when God made the earth and then in the New Testament Wisdom is portrayed as a female. I still feel as though I don’t quite understand the context of wisdom and what the bible is saying about it. We discussed in our assignment how many of the passages of wisdom can be applied to the 21st century and I believe this is true. Many of the verses in the Book of Proverbs can be applied and provide guidance or wisdom for today’s society. IN addition to wisdom, we discussed our beliefs on how Jesus is portrayed in the four synoptic gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. I agreed with all of the views, but in the end I found that Luke’s portrayal of Jesus was most appealing to me. Luke portrayed Jesus as the history of salvation. Jesus was sent by God to teach the people and then to be crucified so that all the people’s sins were forgiven. Luke also shows that Jesus was showing the people God’s plan and that God wanted all the people, Jews or Gentiles, to follow in
