“Being a Christ follower means being acquainted with sorrow” (252). Katie points out that to follow Christ is to go to the hard places (252). “Joy costs pain (252)…. [however] in Him, even sorrow is joy (256). This was a hard concept for me to grasp; I have heard that following Christ means “going to the hard places.” However, reading these sections in Kisses from Katie, I found myself really considering the meaning for the first time. She also states that God uses us in our brokenness and we simply have to be willing (280). I struggle with both, but brokenness is another big concept in my life at the moment. I have a constant doubt of worthiness. I do not like the brokenness and I feel unworthy to be used by God. I realize this is a lie and that I am useable by God, but in my mind is a constant struggle to believe
