Reflection About Culture And Culture

Culture is defined as the type of customs that many people of the same heritage share. Heritage contains most of the traditions of customs, and traditions that are passing through generations. Race is what puts people that have similarities into social groups; an example of race would be that people that have a dark skin complexion may be considered of African origin. The United States of America is a very diverse country that has many cultures integrated with it; although American society is diverse there is an overall American culture that all its citizens share. An example of such would be that many Hispanics are usually considered devout Catholics. Most Latin Americans are Catholic but my family is not we are a different religion because that is how American culture has influenced us. In the past, such as in the early 19th century there were no signs of diversity in America because the “white” race was dominant but with time that has changed; now in the 21st century there are plenty more people who cooperate together regardless of race. American culture has had many beneficial aspects to it such as our mindset on things. It has taught me that everyone is equal and should be treated equally because we are all human beings. It has changed me, as well many others to considerate and polite not just to ideals, but people’s lifestyles and values. People form their identity in different ways through these aspects; some people go through adversity, determination, experiences, or even by trying to follow in their parents’ foot steps to do their best. My race and heritage had motivated me to step out of the social norms, and be an important person. The most contributing factor that links the three together was American culture because through this it allowed me to really saturate in the ideals and foundations that was based upon my heritage and race. American culture actually forms more than just my own identity; it forms many other people’s as well. In the United States people have an opportunity that they usually will not have when travelling to other countries around the world. In other parts of the world, you must follow the countries values and ideals because if you don’t some might give you a ticket, arrest you, or even place you in jail. The United States has rules also but if you have your own ideals and values of how you dress, practice your religion, dance, and even eat.
