“Turn on the TV, press 5 on the remote control and turn up the volume so that I can hear the horoscope for today. If I am not back in time or I miss something about my sign, pay attention because I will ask you later on to tell me.” – This was how my day used to start until some months ago. The same sentences I would hear from my mum with the same unchanged enthusiasm every day, and I too, would not get tired wondering how astrology could have such a great importance in a person’s way of perceiving things. For my mum everybody’s star sign was the perfect way of knowing a great deal of characteristics that build up his personality. Astrology, as she would say, was the science that would help me know myself better and others too. At first I strongly disagree with her, but one day surprisingly I decided to read about the zodiac signs and the compatibility that I discovered between what the zodiacs said of my mother’s character was amazing. Now, I strongly believe that astrology holds some truth. My mother is a Virgo. According to Merriam-Webster …show more content…
The mutable quality makes them change and adapt easily to any kind of situation. They know how to let old things and habits behind and fit in without any difficulty. Being part of the earth signs, Virgos are independent, self-restrained and definitely rational. They are realistic and evaluate things for what they really are that is why for Virgos the right decisions are made having the “feet firmly on the ground”. Looking at my mother, I cannot say that the last quality (extremely rational) is true. Most of the time she is prone to be emotional and puts her heart over the logic. The explanation for that would be given in terms of astrology’s studies as “ the presence of four planets in Scorpio”(. Their presence is the one that reduces her reasoning and gives priority to “the spiritual” which represnts an exception from the normal principle of rationality that the earth sings naturally
