There is no correlation or causation between getting an abortion and a decline in the woman’s mental health and wellbeing (Edwards). This is a good thing, of course, but now I had another question to face. Would forcing a woman to carry a child and give birth to a child that she doesn’t want have a negative effect on her mental health? There is little evidence on this, but I can say that I do think it would have a worse effect on the mother if government decides to make abortions illegal. Forcing the mother to carry a child she has no desire to take care of or physically can’t because her body won’t allow her to for health reasons, would have a much worse effect on the woman’s overall well
