I signed up early in the summer for the six day long Odyssey 38 Adventure WV. I heard about it through a friend who highly enjoyed their trip. There were 18 students and 4 leaders on my trip. We could only pack a certain amount of items to fit into an 18-gallon tub and I proudly fit all my gear. The whole week felt rustic due to the fact that there was limited toiletries, food was simple, and we slept in tents for a few nights. Overall, I enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to any incoming freshman. We traveled around the state and participated in some of the amazing activities the state offers. I would prefer if the program included the locations we visited on their website so that I could visit them again. We rock climbed, went sight seeing, and somehow smoothly drove the narrow winding roads of West Virginia while hauling a trailer. White water rafting in Ohiopyle was my favorite experience because I get to say that I swam with a poisonous snake. I tackled the ropes courses at the Outdoor Education Center, climbed the most difficult rock face, and stood at the top of Spruce Knob. I really enjoyed the hikes and scenery of the state. There is nothing like it where I am from in northern Ohio.

I met new people and learned a lot about West Virginia University, myself, and how West Virginia is truly wild and
