Firstly, the bureaucratic models that is concerned with ‘control and efficiency’, by controlling the employees with the job descriptions and job evaluation to provide order and equity. My view in this control is for the top level management where they can exercise high control towards their employees with consistent standards among the employees. However, the disadvantage is that this control can discourage creativity and innovation throughout the organisation. Front line employees will be less satisfied in their job, this is because they have no autonomy which result in their high turnover potential. Secondly, market HRM approach aims to treat employees more like subcontractors and performance based system. In my opinion, this control can motivate the employees to work harder and be more competitive with each other, but this will also discourage good relationship among the employees as they treated each other as opponents. Thirdly, Clan HRM systems are seen as building high commitment model through teamwork, shared values, cultural norms among the employees. The Equity theory in particular is centered around how individuals feel when compared to others in the workplace. If one worker feels they are working harder than another and then finds out that the first worker receives a higher salary, the worker is likely to lose motivation to work as hard for a lesser salary. It is important to note that this theory is about fairness, not equality, and specifically to understanding reactions to fairness or unfairness in the workplace.
