Reed's Pet Peeve Hell

I could feel the warm breathe pressing against my face. I slowly opened my eyes to see my dog Tripp hovering directly over me. I heard horrid sounds of men and women screaming. I knew I was in for an avarice journey once I looked up and read the words on the sign right above the giant gold gate. The words read " Welcome to Reed's Pet Peeve Hell. No mercy, No exceptions." Panic began to set in as I thought about the words on the sign. Unsure of what to do, I heard a deep mellow voice behind me begin to speak. Startled, I quickly turned around to see that Tripp was the only source of life within miles. He looked right at me and began to speak. He could only get a few words out before I fainted. Once again I began to panic. Then there came the deep, mellow voice again. He said "Your going to be okay, I will guide you through this." I don't know why, but considering the fact he is the only one I have ever trusted, I believed him. The screams got louder as we came to a screeching halt. I quickly jumped off of Tripp's back as I saw a huge figure running towards us at an unrealistic speed. My first thought was that it was a huge gorilla or ape. Unfortunately, it was worse. Tripp told me to take a step back as I saw Coach Moore running full speed ahead right at us. Tripp took a deep breathe in, and let one of the most terrifying barks I have ever heard in my life. Coach Moore stopped in his tracks in terror. Tripp said "Reed is destined to take this journey. God sent him and there is nothing that can stop him." Tripp then explained to me what was going on. I was sent here because God thought I was …show more content…
Tripp told me that any minute someone would be here to take us across the river. Just seconds later a boat appeared off in the distance. Who else would it be then Sam Werner. At first, Sam was hesitant to take us across to the second circle of hell. Tripp gave Sam the same speech he gave to Coach Moore and after just a few minutes we reached the other side of the river. We came to approach another cliffs. This time when we looked off of the cliff, we saw tons of sick people. Wherever you looked you saw people throwing up. Tripp told me this is the circle of hell in which people who falsely advertise their food are placed. These are the people that market their foods as healthy or good for you, however it is the exact opposite. The people in this pit are always suffering from starvation. The only food for these people to eat are poisonous berries that will make them sick. I began to feel uneasy at the sight so we moved

For three years, Father had refused the idea of leaving North Carolina. But my brother, Ben, sent us another letter, addressed as he always did to John Benjamin Wilks and Katie. In the letter Ben was praising his new farm, the richness of the land and how many more acres he was clearing. He told of the bountiful crops of corn and wheat that he would be reaping in a few weeks, more corn and wheat per acre than Father had ever gotten from our old worn out farm in North Carolina. He told of the abundance of water, game, and timber.…

The sky is dark, damp, and warm, the slight red undertones are glowing through the clouds. I never expected something like this to happen in my short lifetime, Mauna Loa was erupting for the first time in twenty-five years. I felt my heart rise into my throat, causing me to choke out a dry sob. I was twenty-one, I finally had a house, and now I was going to die in this massive storm of lava and rubble.…

The dancing of the snow, the running of the wind, the Earth was so quiet, so very, very quiet, ever since the outbreak. The outbreak caused the death of nearly every individual on the face of the world. I was the last living man who was living in the last place, anyone would want to be- Mt. Everest. A human tendency is to run away from problems, no matter how big or small; in my case, I ran away as soon as possible on a helicopter to a place where I know for a fact that I will be safe; this idea was the only reason why I survived the outbreak. I didn't know what was wrong, but it felt like something was. A chill crawled down my spine, and I found myself picking up pace until I had broken out into a run, miraculously not stumbling on the uneven forest ground.
