The Redwood National Park was founded in 1968, the Redwood National Park has two groves of trees, also the park occupies one of the areas that are considered the most actively seismic in the U.S, the seismic activity has created waterways, landslides and rapid erosion along the coastline. The Park has two waterways the Redwood Creek and the Klamath River: both rivers have erosioned the landscape. Minor earthquakes are common in the park and offshore, which is usually caused by the North american and Gorda Plates.The majority of the rocks are sedimentary rocks formed from sandstone, siltstone, and shale, and a few are metamorphic rocks like cherts and greenstone. Most of the rocks in the park were formed during the Cretaceous age by heavy uplift
