First of all, I struggle with redundancy in my essays and writings in general so, I find important to use active voice as it is more straightforward. It allows you to stay in track with the main point of your writing without restating ideas and making your writing tedious for the reader. I feel that this issue arouses when you are trying to put all the ideas at the same time without realizing that you are writing a paragraph that can be made into one sentence.
