Reductive Cough Case Study

The patient is 39-year-old woman who presents for evaluation of reductive cough, associated with shortness of breath. She also has an underlying upper respiratory infection, with congestion plus earache. No fever, or chills. No localized chest pain. No history of asthma. A friend of hers, nurse practitioner, listened to her lungs and said they sounded 'junky' and very congested. Her sputum is clearing, it is occasionally thick. She has used Dayquil and Nyquil, which has been somewhat helpful.

Medications are as outlined in EMR.

Drug allergy to PENICILLIN.

OBJECTIVE
Blood pressure 108/72. Pulse _____(62). Temperature 35.5. Weight 131 pounds. Pulse ox went from 97% to 99%. Peak expiratory flow rate was _____(250x3).
