There is no reason the redskins should change their name. This football team's home is the Nation's Capital, Washington, DC. Washington DC’s first people were natives. DC wanted to name their football team after natives since they were the first one here. They want to give honor to the first settlers. This is when they chose the name Redskins. There is a lot of controversy as to whether or not they should change their name or keep it the same. There is nothing wrong with the name, and they should not change it. This is a football team, not anything huge like the office where we make and pass laws in. The main reason they shouldn’t change their name is because it is a legacy, t would be a definite financial change, it is honoring the natives.
