Tommy admitted that a guy in Maine is doing jail time for two people he killed. He admitted that he killed a man by the name of Glenn Quentin who was a golf pro. This was the start to a lead of Andy’s escape. He met with warden Norton to discuss what Tommy told him. Warden Norton tried his best to cover Andy’s truth up which even resulted in him sending Tommy to a different prison.
Red was the man in Shawshank who could get things easily for the prisoners in Shawshank. Red was the cause of Andy’s most two important valuables; a rock hammer, and a Rita Hayworth poster. Andy’s Rita Hayworth poster was used to cover up the hole he made in the concrete wall to prepare for his escape. “He could muffle the sound of his work by wrapping the head of his hammer,” (King 98). Andy disposed of the concrete wall in the yard through cupfuls. He finally successfully made his attempt in 1975.
Another very important scene that I think should be incorporated into the movie is when Red is released on parole, finds the money Andy left him, and heads to Mexico to reunite with Andy. I believe that this is a very crucial piece of detail that could make or break the plot of the
