The first character is Alyssa Gardener, the protagonist of the whole series of books. Her personality carries a mixture of attributes, from stubborn to optimistic. She’s extremely intelligent and caring, but also cautious of the things she completes. Her appearance is stunning; she has bright blond hair with a vibrant permanent red streak in her fringe that is very wavy. Alyssa’s eyes are as blue as the ocean and sky combined. She is relatively pale, but is actually fairly active outside. The next character is Jeb, Alyssa’s boyfriend. His personality is adjacent to hers, but he’s more artistic, athletic, and protective. No matter the situation, Jeb is always looking over the ones around him to make sure they are secure and safe. Jeb’s hair is dark and shaggy, halfway down his neck, and his eyes are a light green shade. Lastly is Morpheus, who is very manipulative, flirtatious, and decisive, but also intelligent above them all. His appearance makes him look non-trustworthy, which he truly is, but sometimes you can wrap you hand around a soft spot of his and he’ll act calmly and compassionately. His hair is a brilliant blue that is almost half way down his back. His eyes are a somber purple that are dull and longing. His emotions don’t seem to be expressed like any human. His manner is cold and

Being a southern girl I could see myself in one of the characters. M'Lynn, Truvy, Annelle, Claree, Shelby and my favorite Ouiser all had a unique personality but are alike in so many ways which is the love they have for their families, one another, and the support for each other during family crisis. They laughed together, cried together and even made jokes about one another but as friends they always made the best out of all obstacles that crossed them rather it was a happy occasion or tragic.…

Response to Marissa’s Paper Personal redemption and forgiveness were the main themes of Marissa Wilkinson’s paper, as well as the realism in the character’s Martin McDonagh created. Using evidence from the text as well as a physical rendition of the play The Cripple of Inishmaan performed by the Austin College Theater Department, she shows personality flaws present in main of the plays characters and the attempts made by these characters to love and protect the same people they judge and mistreat. Relatability is a common tactic used by authors when creating a story because it is a quick and easily way to connect the audience to the fictional character and the action. McDonagh uses this tactic to bring this diverse cast of characters to life. More than one character struggles with an overarching character flaw; some can be seen struggle to control their flaw while other embrace it.…
