The concert that I attended was the Redlands Community Orchestra at Redlands High School Clock Auditorium. The orchestra consisted of three pieces which were Fanfare to the Common Man by Aaron Copland, Les Preludes by Franz Liszt, and Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67 by Ludwig van Beethoven. These pieces are capturing pieces of art and history that surpass time and yet are still know in this modern era. The composers were well known artist that created a kind of movement in music history and became well known for their incredible pieces and symphony’s. I will explain the three pieces that were played at the concert, giving a brief punctual explanation to each. First of all, Fanfare to the Common Man by Aaron Copland was an inspirational piece which opens up with loud drums with a pause then followed by inspirational tones with trumpets. The piece was overall loud then a pause afterwards played very fast. I …show more content…
The pieces met my expectation, because the tone of it was very interesting especially on how it started and how it progressed during the play. I enjoyed the music because it was inspirational like humanity accomplished a great feat, also how. Also the demeanor o the musicians looked very concentrated and as for the audience they appeared to be comfortable and interested. This effected my impression of the music because the audience weren’t reacting with the tone of the music which made in confusing for myself on how to react. I would attend the concert again because it is interesting to hear and it’s a piece of history that many individuals do not appreciate and take their time to listen to something classic and beautiful the roots of music. In conclusion, the performance was a success because the pieces were well played and coordinated with accuracy, I appreciated the tones, beats, and symphony of the play. It got me to listen deeply and appreciate the melodies of the

On Sunday, June 21st, I went to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra perform “The Music of John Williams and Hollywood’s Great Composers” at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. The concert was held in the church’s worship room at 6:30pm. This was a great place for the DSO to perform because the audience and the orchestra were very close and, in a way, felt more personal. The show included fourteen pieces: “Overture to Captain Blood by Korngold, ‘Tara’ – A Short Poem for Orchestra from Gone with the Wind by Steiner, arr.…

The two performances we did were received very well by over 1000 people. The exhibit was quite inspiring for these performances, like seeing the costumes for the Nymphs in Afternoon of a Faun gave me chills. Though the video of the restaged version of the ballet with Nureyev as the title role seemed overdramatic to me, and the Paris Opera version I learnt the ballet from was much more subtle with the characteristics.…

Overall I expected it to be a great performance, and it is safe to say my expectations were met. There was a lot of kids, and babies in attendance which I didn’t expect at all. The performance put on by the Orchestra was great. When the director of the orchestra entered the stage everyone in the audience gave him an applause as he starts to greet the audience, and talk about the performance. The projector behind the performers had videos, and drawings displayed that was turned into amination, and it brought the drawings to life while making the story more entertaining.…

It was very soothing and relaxing to listen to. The music that the group produced was smooth throughout the concert. In the second song, the trumpet player used the technique of covering the hole of the trumpet where the sound comes out of with his hand and it made the trumpet sound similar to the trombone. The music was smooth and slow enough that one could move to it and follow along with it.…

As stated before the concert was not what I was expecting. I enjoyed it more than I believed I would, it certainly isn’t my new favorite type of music, but understanding aspects of it gave me a greater appreciation for the music and the musicians. Things such as a recognizable basso ostinato set by the base player were a familiar starting point. When the soloists needed an accompaniment the bassist varied the continuous rhythm to compliment what the soloist was playing, otherwise, the beat was…

With this concert, I was not too sure what expect seeing a vocalist, piano player and a clarinetist, but this has turned out to be my favorite concert thus far. I enjoyed how different it was from the other concerts with the music they played was more enjoyable, modern and upbeat. A positive aspect I took from this performance, was inviting and friendly the performers were. It is not everyday where they invite you to sit on stage while they do their performance because they want you to feel like you are a part of it. I really did find much negativity to this performance, besides the fact it was most sung in a different language and hard to follow, but helped me learn more of different types of music.…

It is great that we are showing music through social media to help people broaden their look on music. This symphony seemed like they were made to play with each other. At the beginning I got excited for the concert because of all the media they show on the ceiling and walls.…

Walking into the auditorium, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere of the concert was completely different from that of the classical concert I attended weeks earlier. To begin with, it seemed like there was much more of an audience. Everyone seemed excited for the concert to start. As for myself, I was also excited because, on the very front of the program, it said that there was a guest artist that was going to perform with the ensemble. The performers wore more of a business casual look, some were a little more dressed up than others, but overall they looked very well dressed.…

Moreover, since it was a solo performance, there was no communication among performers. Even though I could not see the performer because he was hide behind the organ, I could feel that I was putting a lot of energy in this piece to make it dramtic. Just by the way he would hit the peddles it resound in the Hall. The musical composition I liked the least was Prélude et fugue en mi mineur composed by Johann Sebastian Bach.…

The intensity of the message was felt by all of the performers, especially Janine Jansen whose expressions were easily read during the concert. This connection was felt between all of the violinists, the cellists, and the harpsichord player. The performance attempted to give a dark but loving story which will keep you amused throughout the whole concert. I learned a lot about the choreographers in the performance by the way they presented themselves. Presentation means a lot and the way they proceeded was professional. The dance was successful to a point where everyone in the audience was thrilled and amazed from the performance. Practice makes perfect and the only way to improve is to try and do it over and over…
