Red Sea is a very particular body of water that characterized by high salinity, high temperature, and oligotrophic environment. The surface water of the Red sea is dominated by the photoautotrophic cyanobacteria Prochlorococcus, which plays an important role in the biomass and production of the red sea. Temperature change is one of the abiotic factors that impact not only Prochlorococcus growth rate, but also the cell size of Prochlorococcus. In order to determine the growth rate and cell size in response to the temperature change, Prochlorococcus cultures were incubated in four different temperatures, which are 22C, 25C, 28C, and 31C.
