Red Riding Hood And The Three Bears: A Comparative Analysis

Improved Essays
Have you ever met someone that makes decisions that are comparable to yours, but in other ways they are far away from the personality that you have? Well, the books Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears are just the case. The characters share comparable decisions and thought processes, but their demeanor is completely different. An example of something similar is that the characters were both in a forest. An example of something that is different is why they were in a forest. RRH was in the forest to help her granny who has fallen ill, and Goldilocks was just looking for fun during a walk. Maybe after this you can start looking at stories that you might have been told as a pupil and start taking a closer look and maybe establish inferences.
Both had some decisions that affected the story, here is Red Riding Hood. In Red Riding Hood, Red Riding Hood goes to her granny in the forest who

Well, they went to the forest and concluded the story with a life lesson. They both are audacious and won’t stop during an adventure. Both abscond when there was a dilemma and lived to tell the tale, it was also told in the hero’s point of view. On the other side, Red Riding Hood was in the forest to deliver some baked goods to her granny, and Goldilocks was just trying to explore new discoveries. Red Riding Hood was where she was supposed to be and responsible, but Goldilocks was irresponsible and was exploring someone’s house without permission.
As my essay states, Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood, although the characters are from two different stories they are similar in ways that people probably didn’t even know. Like how they both went into a forest. Despite this, they also share differences like why they went into the forest. So as you can tell, Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood share bountiful decisions, but are distant from being the same. Maybe now you can even compare and contrast some of the cherished stories you were told as a

I felt that Sexton’s “Cinderella” was a direct counterpoint to Disney’s version of Cinderella because the contrast between the two is so stark. However, after doing a little research I found out that Sexton published a book of poems based on the Grimm Brothers fairy tale called Transformations. So Sexton was not calling out Disney specifically, still, the plot is similar and they can be compared and contrasted. Most are familiar with the Disney version, I perhaps more than most having two small girls at home and a trip to Disney World under our belt. The plot of both tales are similar, girl mistreated, mystical powers intervene, girl end up with the prince, Where Sexton deviates is the idea of what is real happiness and where does it come…

The tale of the Little Red Riding Hood has transformed over time being passed down from generation to generation. The version of these two tales most everyone knows is the innocent story we once heard as children known as The Little Red Cap, a short story by the Grimm Brothers.
