The Vintage Ranch in Sacramento, California have a bull sale and a female sale every year, which can average $30,000 to $50,000 an animal. In 2000, the Vintage Angus Ranch sold a cow with her heifer at her side for $850,000, an average for $425,000 apiece. Schaff Angus Valley Ranch has an annual bull sale, in 2016 one of their yearling bulls sold for $725,000. The bull’s genetics sold for millions across the world, siring thousands and thousands of offspring from the United States to South America, New Zealand, Australia, and Africa. This shows that the genetics produce better marbling in beef making it taste so delicious. When you go shop for beef in a butcher shop, you’ll notice that certified Angus beef is labeled on its own. This breed developed and transformed beef to not just taste good, but taste delicious. The Black Angus has changed the beef industry by increasing the quality of meat. Throughout past and present changes, ranching and the innovation of the Black Angus goes to show to never be satisfied with average. Next time you have a burger check what kind of beef it is, and hope its Angus Beef.
Though this experience it has shown that the Black Angus is a sensational animal providing beef, and genetics, a business and a hobby. It has shown uniqueness and on a personal note I am proud to be the son of an Angus rancher. The Black Angus has not just provided for the U.S. but for my family and I. Learning about this breed has given the thought of even when you’re at the lowest point you should never give up on your dreams. You should keep fighting and never stop until get what you’ve worked for. Having to learn about the Black Angus has given me the idea of maybe one day I can be taken under the wing of my father and continue the family hobby and to try to do better than my father and produce more and better Black Angus
